Namen in poslanstvo

Tisočletna praksa v tradicionalnih družbah in številne sodobne raziskave potrjujejo vrednost psihedelikov in nam posredujejo znanje o učinkoviti in varni rabi.

ENGLISH: Purpose and mission

The Psychedelic Society of Slovenia aims at connecting all individuals and organizations interested in psychedelic and related states of consciousness. We believe that psychedelic compounds, plants and mushrooms, as well as psychedelic techniques, can again become valuable tools for the development of human society and regain the role of catalysts of social change - a role they historically held for a significant part of human history.

We support the well intentional, responsible and safe use of psychedelics and other entheogens, and their legitimate return to modern culture, as we are convinced that some people can use them for beneficial purposes, such as aid in therapy, spiritual growth, artistic and scientific creativity, empathy, or as a mean for relaxing social tensions.

The use of psychedelics is certainly not suitable for all people. Indeed, for most people, it is only safe in the presence of a therapist or an experienced guide, but we believe it is necessary to allow the freedom to investigate psychedelic states of consciousness to those who desire it and prepare for it accordingly. Millenniums of practice in traditional societies and numerous modern studies confirm the value of psychedelics and provide us with knowledge about effective and safe use.

Despite the current psychedelic revival in science and research, and good clinically proven therapeutic results, many psychedelics are prohibited, and the social reception toward their use is still largely negative due to fear of the unknown. Such a situation hampers the emergence of social practices that would allow safe and efficient use. That is why our basic mission is the education of the public and improving awareness among experts.

Additionally, we aim at helping in preparing individuals for the psychedelic experience and psychological integration of psychedelic insights. While the psychedelic experience in society lost its traditional role, and was replaced by non-experiential spiritual practices and dogmatic thought patterns, the modern man became alienated from creation. It is time to return this experience to its former role, so that the society that got lost in a spiritual dead end, can again develop forward.
